Hi, I’m Charles — a qualified boilermaker and welder with over 18 years of hands-on experience across marine, oil and gas, mining and civil construction projects. I take pride in delivering high-quality work on time, staying safe on the job and getting jobs done right the first time.

Experience:

• I’m confident with MIG, TIG and Stick welding, including pressure and purge welding
• I work with stainless steel, carbon, mild steel, and aluminium
• I can read and interpret structural and pipe drawings accurately
• I’ve installed and rigged structural steel, and I’m comfortable operating
• EWPs and cranes
• I’ve taken on leadership roles, run pre-starts, and liaised directly with clients and builders on-site

Tickets & Qualifications:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
• White Card | Rail Industry Worker (RIW)
• High Risk Work Licence – WP, Dogman, Basic Rigger
• Yellow Card SL | Pressure Welding Ticket 7
• Confined Space & TBOSIET (not current)

Projects I’ve Worked On:

• Renron (Melbourne): I’ve led site installs, completed VOC tests for major projects (WGTP, NEL, SRL), and worked closely with both workshops and clients.
• All About Steel (Melbourne): As a site foreman, I ran teams, toolbox talks, and managed the install of staircases, handrails, pergolas, planter boxes and more.
• Downer / Hume / Darwin: I’ve handled critical repairs, heavy welding, oxy cutting, pipe spools, hydrostatic testing, and even offshore rig work.
• Bechtel (FIFO QLD): I worked as an exotic welder on the GLNG project, welding pipework from 1” to 42” with a 100% x-ray pass rate.

What I’m Looking For:
I’m open to site or workshop roles, shutdowns, FIFO work, or any project where high-quality welding, safety and reliability are key.
